Senior Care
Senior aged pets have unique needs. Most pets are considered seniors after age 8, with the exception of giant breed dogs who are considered seniors around 6 years old!
Senior pets are at risk for developing diseases such as diabetes, kidney disease, heart disease, thyroid disease, high blood pressure, arthritis, and cancer. Most diseases senior pets face are not seen outwardly, so diagnostic screening for these potential issues is imperative in order to detect diseases in their early and most treatable stages.
Physical Exams
For our senior patients, we recommend bi-annual physical exams with comprehensive diagnostic screening which may include:
Bloodwork
Urinalysis
Blood pressure testing
X-rays
Pain management (including laser therapy and acupuncture)
Adjustments to diet
