Before any surgical procedure (including dental surgery) a thorough physical exam is performed as well as pre-anesthetic bloodwork. Throughout surgery, your pet’s vital sign parameters are closely monitored by our skilled team of professionals. Vitals signs monitored include:

Blood oxygenation
Blood pressure
Heart rate
Heart rhythm
Breathing rate
Temperature

Anesthesia

To ensure the safety of your pet under general anesthesia, Longmont Small Animal Hospital maintains the highest standards of anesthetic preparation and monitoring. An individualized anesthetic plan will be formulated for your pet prior to any procedure based on medical history, physical exam, and pre-anesthetic laboratory testing. For these reasons, a physical exam and consultation are required prior to scheduling any anesthetic procedure.
